The challenge

When a private equity firm purchased an electronics testing and certification operation from a multibillion-dollar corporate parent, the business needed its own complete IT environment. The new owners needed to preserve email, files, and business data while avoiding disruption to time-sensitive testing operations.

The employees also faced longstanding frustrations: slow internet, inconsistent performance, printing problems, and slow corporate IT support. The new company had an opportunity to start fresh, but the acquisition timetable left almost no room for mistakes.

A carefully engineered transition

Three months of preparation

Leet Services began planning approximately three months before the October 31, 2025 closing. Our team assessed the existing environment, coordinated the separation, built a new Microsoft 365 tenant, and prepared a secure, independent infrastructure for company-owned identities, devices, files, and email.

  • Migrated email and file shares to company-controlled cloud and local systems without losing important business data.
  • Reconfigured 38 computers and established Microsoft Entra ID and Intune management.
  • Overhauled the network to improve internet speed, reliability, and security.
  • Introduced 24/7 endpoint and Microsoft 365 monitoring, identity security, AI-powered email filtering, administrator controls, and firewall protections.
  • Built redundant local storage with cloud backup for large testing video files, while enabling secure VPN-free remote access to appropriate business resources.

Acquisition day: Friday to Monday

On Friday, October 31, 2025, the business changed ownership and its IT systems began operating independently. Testing operations continued without interruption. Key office staff resumed work by late Friday morning, and most employees were transitioned by Friday evening. No weekend work was required. On Monday, Leet Services addressed minor remaining adjustments rather than scrambling to restore normal operations.

Protecting millions in specialized equipment

The following week, Leet Services tackled the high-stakes modernization of specialized electronics testing systems. Their proprietary software was sensitive to operating system and profile changes, and company leadership was concerned that an unsuccessful upgrade could cause expensive downtime or repair bills.

Our technicians carefully investigated the compatibility requirements, established a working Windows 11 Pro and Entra profile migration process, and repeated that tested approach across the equipment. The upgrades succeeded without the feared compatibility disruptions, helping preserve millions of dollars in existing assets.

A better IT experience, built to grow

Employees immediately noticed faster internet, fewer performance problems, reliable printing and conference rooms, and live technical support reachable within seconds. Much of the existing equipment stayed in place; better planning, configuration, and service produced the improvements. Leadership also gained stronger backup and cybersecurity protections.

Ready for the next acquisition

Since the separation, the company has grown from approximately 27 to more than 40 employees, with its computer fleet expanding from 38 to 54. During another acquisition, Leet Services started at 8:00 a.m. on closing day and migrated 10 computers, their users, accounts, and business data into the existing environment by lunchtime.

The business outcomes

  • Business continuity: no interruptions to testing during the corporate separation.
  • Data protection: important email and files retained through the migration.
  • Investment protection: successful Windows 11 modernization of valuable specialized testing systems.
  • Everyday productivity: faster connectivity, reliable workplace tools, and responsive technical support.
  • Growth readiness: a subsequent acquisition integrated in a single morning.

We were paying considerably less for IT than we had under the former corporate arrangement, and the service has been absolutely amazing.
